Arrest made after woman, 40, killed in hit-and-run, Toronto police say

Kingston Road and Warden Avenue, which was closed to allow officers to investigate, is now open

Toronto police say they have arrested a suspect after a woman was killed in what they say was a hit-and-run in the city's east-end Thursday afternoon.
Police say they received calls for a pedestrian struck near the intersection of Kingston Rd. and Warden Ave at around 3:30 p.m.
Emergency crews arrived on scene where paramedics pronounced a woman in her 40s dead.

Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook says officers arrested a suspect they believe to have been fleeing the scene.
The intersection is closed for the investigation.
