Bahamian flour biscuits

Cordell Wells says this recipe is his grandmother's
Ingredients
- 7 cups flour
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 3 tsp nutmeg, allspice, and mace
- ½ a can of evaporated milk
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 ½ heaping tbsp of shortening
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Method
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Mix all ingredients together until dough resembles a soft slightly wet dough.
- Generously flour your surface and your dough and roll out to about 1/3 of an inch in thickness and cut with a circle cookie cutter of about 3 inches in diameter.
- Bake on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, about 6 per pan.
- Bake until a golden brown colour peeks around the sides and biscuits are very firm.
- Cool on a cooling rack.
- Cookies should be very crunchy.
- Serve with your favourite hot beverage for dipping
