Happy holidays! CBC Books asked authors to share their favourite books of 2017. We will be publishing these recommendations throughout December.
Dina Del Bucchia selected Everything Is Awful and You're a Terrible Person by Daniel Zomparelli.
"As someone who loves short stories and also loves everything Daniel Zomparelli does I couldn't think of another book that gave me as much literary pleasure as Everything Is Awful and You're a Terrible Person. This book made me laugh so hard that I had to go back and read sections over again and again to relive. And it made me deeply emotional in ways that a hilarious book almost never can. This book is a good time with hearty sides of grief, introspection, and romantic foibles. No one writes like Daniel Zomparelli, even though I wish I could create something this beautiful."
Dina Del Bucchia is the author of the poetry collections Coping with Emotions and Otters and the recent short story collection Don't Tell Me What to Do. She also co-hosts the literary podcast Can't Lit with Zomparelli.
