CIBC has confirmed it is closing down one of its branches in eastern P.E.I.
The Murray River branch will close in August next year.
Bank officials said as more Canadians choose to do their banking outside traditional banking centres they're making adjustments.
The Murray River clients will be moved to the Montague branch, about a 15-minute drive away. The bank is in the process of notifying clients.
Four employees at the Murray River branch are affected. Other options for those employees within CIBC are being explored.
A community information session will be held in March, to answer any questions clients have.
