Winnipeg police say two people are in hospital after a man was shot inside a downtown apartment building early Thursday morning.
Police said they were called to the Holiday Towers apartment building on Hargrave Street at 2:15 a.m. Inside a suite they found a man in his 20s "suffering from a significant gunshot wound to his lower body."
Officers applied a tourniquet to the victim, who was then rushed to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Police told CBC they taped off an entrance to Cityplace after a woman from the suite ran outside to call 911. It opened again just before 7 a.m.
The woman suffered a minor injury from a fall, said police, and she was also taken to hospital.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
