A 27-year-old Charlottetown-area man has been charged with attempted murder, arson, uttering threats and assault with a deadly weapon.
The man was charged following an investigation by the Charlottetown police Major Crime Unit into a complaint about a disturbance on Euston Street at about 7 p.m. Nov. 13.
He is accused of attacking a woman he knew who lived in an apartment building, stabbing her in the face with what's believed to have been a sharp stick.
A man living in the same building intervened and the woman got away, but the man who tried to help was also injured.
The two victims were treated at hospital but their injuries aren't considered life threatening.
Police say the accused also set fire to the apartment building.
The 27-year-old remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
