The Crimes of Grindelwald has been revealed as the title of the second instalment of J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts franchise, due out in theatres on Nov. 16, 2018.
Set in the 1920s, the events in Fantastic Beasts predate Harry Potter by more than 50 years. However, several familiar characters are present: Jude Law portrays a young Albus Dumbledore, Johnny Depp is dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and Eddie Redmayne returns as scientist Newt Scamander.

Those versed in Potter lore will remember that Grindelwald rose to infamy as a dark wizard in Europe and was brought down by Dumbledore.
Five films are planned for the series, all to be penned by Rowling. Stars of the first film — including Redmayne, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein and Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski — will reprise their roles in the second movie. David Yates also returns as director.
