Along with the VR documentary, The Current hosted a series of public forums across the country on the issue of murdered and missing Indigenous women.
March 28, 2017 | Ottawa:
The Current held its fifth public forum in Ottawa. It explored the expectations and criticisms of the national inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Feb. 22, 2017 | Toronto:
The Current held its fourth public forum in Toronto. It looked at how the MMIW issues affects children and youth.
Jan. 24, 2017 | Vancouver:
The Current held its third public forum in Vancouver. It looked at how journalists and artists have told this story.
Nov. 30, 2017 | Winnipeg:
The Current headed to the University of Winnipeg's Eckhardt Gramatté Hall to hold its second public forum.
The public was also invited to experience the five-minute virtual reality documentary about the Highway of Tears.
The event was broadcast on CBC Radio One on Dec. 7.
Oct. 13, 2017 | Prince George:
The first public forum was held at the Prince George Civic Centre, Prince George, B.C.
The public was invited to experience the short virtual reality documentary about the Highway of Tears available.
The forum was broadcast on The Current's Oct. 17 program.
