Josephine "Josie" Glenn, 26, is being remembered as a bubbly, kind person who loved her dog, Luna.
She was a talented singer and liked to have fun with friends.
"She was incredibly kind, she'd always put someone else in front of herself. She was just a good person," said Jami Jaclyn, who had known Glenn for about a year and a half.
"We had just talked prior to when she went missing. She was happy and good and I don't know why someone would do anything to her."
On Monday, the man charged in connection with Glenn's death, Oluwatobi "Tobi" Boyde, 25, appeared in court as police drained a retention pond about five blocks from where the woman's body was discovered.
Boyede is charged with second-degree murder and offering an indignity to a human body.
The slight young man, with black hair and a goatee, appeared in court briefly in a pink button-up shirt. His lawyer requested his matter be put over until Friday.
In another courtroom, an unrelated charge against Boyede was also dealt with, but the second-degree murder charge takes priority.
Glenn was reported missing Oct. 23 and police will only say that their investigation led them to 252 South Leaksdale Circle on Friday, where they arrested Boyede and found Glenn's remains.
The home is owned by Olufemi Boyede, according to city of London tax records.
Members of London's Nigerian expat community didn't immediately know either of the two men.

Looking for evidence

Police spent Sunday searching for clues on South Leaksdale Circle and the nearby retention pond. On Monday, they enlisted City of London crews for help draining the pond, in hopes of finding more evidence, near Commissioners Road East.
"Our major crime unit members as well as public order unit and marine unit are at the scene continuing to search for evidence," said Const. Sandasha Bough.
"We have forensic identification units looking for additional evidence. The remains of Josie Glenn were recovered, but if anyone has any information at all, please give us a call."
Police officers kept careful watch of the water draining from the pond, which collects water from the subdivision and drains it into the Thames River.
