Former Winnipeg broadcast personality Steve Vogelsang has been charged with two counts of robbery involving separate bank incidents in Alberta.

Regina police contact Medicine Hat about 'potentially similar' robberies after Vogelsang arrest

Following the arrest of a former Winnipeg media personality in connection with two Alberta bank robberies last week, police in Regina say they have been in touch with the Medicine Hat Police Service because they are investigating "potentially similar offences."

Stephen Vogelsang was a journalism instructor at Red River College from 2002-11 and before that was the news director and longtime sports anchor at CTV.

Vogelsang, a former news director and sports anchor at CTV Winnipeg and former&nbsp;journalism instructor at Winnipeg's Red River College,&nbsp;was arrested Saturday at a hotel in Medicine Hat.

Police allege he robbed a Medicine Hat Royal Bank on Oct. 19 and a Bank of Montreal there the next day.

Earlier this week, police in Regina&nbsp;said they have been in touch with the Medicine Hat Police Service because they are investigating "potentially similar offences."
