Entry in five-ish words
Poems from a broken heart
The poem's source of inspiration
"These poems were written in the difficult months following my brother's death from suicide."
First lines
I carry my life
across Simonhouse
Lake where other canoes
once paddled, heavy
across Simonhouse
Lake where other canoes
once paddled, heavy
with heaps of pelts.
Behind me, my brother,
abandoned
Behind me, my brother,
abandoned
