Roberta Rich, the author of A Trial in Venice, loves Leo Tolstoy's classic novel Anna Karenina. For her, it's the one book that never gets old.
"The book I go back to again and again, both for inspiration and instruction, is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I adore the book because I think he shows a brilliant insight into the hearts and minds of women. The emotional trajectory of Anna's downfall is beautifully paced and I think the dialogue is wonderful.
"Whenever I'm looking for comfort or inspiration I turn to Anna Karenina. It's a book I go back to, over and over again, because I've learned so much from it."
