Chatham-Kent 401 barriers rally planned for Queen's Park

Residents to bring forward petition with nearly 2,000 signitures
There's a growing grassroots effort calling for the installation of median barriers on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The province has said it will install high-tension cables, but only starting next year.
A petition demanding the government act immediately to improve safety between Tilbury and London has garnered almost 2,000 signatures.
Alysson Storey was friends with a mother and daughter who were killed in a crash on the highway in August.
"It's hard to find anything positive right now because we're all really, really sad," she said. "They were both wonderful people, and if anything positive can come out of such a tragic situation, I would hope we could spare other families this kind of heartbreak."

Chatham-Kent-Essex MPP Rick Nicholls will be delivering the petition and asking about the issue in Question period next week.
Storey, who started the petition, has also organized a rally at Queen's Park for Oct. 4.
