The Polaris Music Prize, awarded to the best Canadian album of the year regardless of genre, was awarded last night. Lido Pimienta took home the award for her album, La Papessa.
Earlier this year, we spoke to the artist about her journey from Colombia to Canada, finding freedom in music and giving space to female voices.
Today, Pimienta will join host Tom Power in the studio once again to discuss her big win. For more coverage of last night's Polaris Music Prize, head over to CBC Music(external link).
