Police say joint operation disrupted network shipping cocaine from southern Ontario
Two Sudbury men are among five who face 37 drug and weapons-related charges after Greater Sudbury Police Services and provincial police busted a cocaine trafficking network in Sudbury over the weekend.
The two-month long joint investigation, with the OPP's Biker Enforcement Unit and Thunder Bay Police Services, concluded with the seizure of 1.85 kilograms of cocaine and 98 oxycodone tablets from two Sudbury residences, along with smaller amounts of morphine, marijuana and psilocybin.
Two men from Thunder Bay, and one man from Bradford were also charged.
Illegal firearms were also found during the operation, which police say focused on disrupting a channel that received large quantities of cocaine from southern Ontario.
Police say the street value of the drugs is around $187,000.
All of the suspects arrested will answer to charges in a Sudbury court at a later date.
