It was both a very good day and a very bad day for a Saskatoon man on Tuesday.
On the plus side, the 37-year-old was saved by the fire department rescue boat as he was clinging onto one of the pillars of the city's Canadian Pacific Railway Train Bridge.
On the minus side, police discovered he was wanted for theft under $5,000 and was charged as soon as police discovered who he was.
Police say the man was reportedly walking in the river near the bridge before he needed to be rescued.
It's believed he was intoxicated.
