James Stewart has been named the new president of Unifor Local 444.

Members elected their new leader Friday afternoon in an executive board meeting.

Stewart moves from his first vice-president position and takes over the president's office immediately, according to a news release.

He replaces former president Dino Chiodo, who has been named the auto director for Unifor national.
