Police say man grabbed the woman and forced her to be in a photo, then tried to pull her into his car
A young woman narrowly escaped an attempted abduction after a stranger grabbed her, forced her to take a photo with him, then tried to drag her by the neck into a vehicle near a southern Alberta hamlet, RCMP say.
It happened on Wednesday afternoon when a young woman was approached by a stranger in the Langdon area, about 40 km southeast of Calgary.
"(He) was insistent in his efforts to 'pick her up' despite being rebuked several times by the woman," Strathmore RCMP said in a news release Thursday.
"The male physically grabbed the woman to force her to take a photo with him and made repeated references to wanting her to come with him.
"When the woman attempted to depart, the male allegedly grabbed her by the neck and started dragging her towards his vehicle."
RCMP say a witness intervened and the man left.
The man drove a red, four-door sedan.
He is described as having darker skin and stood about six foot tall.
He wore a white T-shirt with an emblem and blue jeans.
