Suspect wanted on Canada-wide warrant, police spokesperson says

Police have taken a man into custody after closing off a section of Main Street between Anderson and Bannerman avenues Friday morning.
Winnipeg Police Service officers told CBC News they were trying to take someone into custody in an apartment in the 1300 block of Main Street.
The man was armed with a gun when he encountered an officer and then fled into the apartment building, police said.
A WPS spokesperson said the man was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant, but couldn't provide any details about why the warrant was issued.
Officers first arrived on the scene at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.
The section of Main Street reopened around 7:30 a.m. Friday. A WPS spokesperson said the situation was resolved without incident and no one was injured.
Police have not released the name of the man they arrested.
