Driver killed in crash on Stoney Trail

Police say driver was thrown from the vehicle before it burst into flames after hitting a light standard

Police say a driver killed in a crash in Calgary was thrown from the vehicle before it burst into flames.
The accident happened about 11 p.m. Sunday on Stoney Trail at 16th Avenue N.E. when a car slammed into a light standard.
The victim was found dead when paramedics arrived at the scene.
A portion of Stoney Trail was closed for most of the night while police investigated.
