A bittersweet coming-of-age fringe treat for fans of Judy Blume or anyone who hated junior high
Rating: ★★★
Company: Naked Theatre Productions
Genre: Play - Comedy
Venue: 3 - Pantages Studio
Besties Harper and Rose (writer/performers Rebekah Enns and Sarah Flynn) have a problem — Harper's headed to a new school in a new city for Grade 7. Can their friendship survive the long-distance test?
The coming-of-age themes of dealing with change in Harper & Row aren't hugely original, but Enns and Flynn craft their story in a charmingly appealing way.
Filled with gentle humour (sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone who's ever been 12 years old,) their performances nicely capture the awkwardness and frustrations of approaching your teen years and navigating a world where everything seems to be changing. It's honest and funny and relatable.

A bittersweet fringe confection recommended for fans of Judy Blume or anyone who doesn't think junior high was the best time of their lives.
