Melanie Gall's voice all that's needed for a great show, but audiences get so much more
Rating: ★★★★
Company: Malanie Gall Presents
Genre: Musical
Venue: 26 — Creative Manitoba
Melanie Gall doesn't need more than her singing to put on a great show, but with We'll Meet Again we get that and quite a bit more.
Gall sings the wartime classics Vera Lynn was famous for, but this time out Gall plays herself between numbers: a Lynn super-fan who wants to dedicate a show to the wartime entertainer's story and, most importantly, lead a celebration of the music that made Lynn so popular with troops.

Thus, we get fun facts about Lynn's life and work (there are many – I won't spoil any here); we get the songs, and to sing along supported by provided lyric sheets (though few of those in attendance at the decidedly older-skewing opening show needed them); we get Gall's personality, which is just as delightful as her singing; and we get that voice, a treat to hear no matter what song she is singing.
