So here's the craic: Sometimes love just isn't enough. And sometimes, it's just too much.
When Vancouver-based actor Keara Barnes decided to take a gap year after graduation, her planned six-month trip to Ireland turned into a three-year adventure. Because shortly after her arrival in the Emerald Isle, she made the mistake of falling in love.
This story has four characters, all played by Barnes herself: Barnes, her Irish boyfriend Joe, Joe's young daughter Aiofe, and Joe's alcoholic troublemaking ex, known here simply as "the woman who cannot be named."
Barnes has a remarkable physical and vocal presence on stage and she shifts easily between disparate characters, employing a spot-on Irish accent.
This is a cautionary tale of love, loss, addiction, separation, and trusting your instincts.- Sarah Broadfoot
This is a cautionary tale of love, loss, addiction, separation, and trusting your instincts. Barnes has learned the hard way that no matter how hard your heart might try to make you believe something, it is your gut that tells the whole truth.
