Kelly Flock, 68, requires medication and has not been seen since June 22
Family and friends of a Calgary man who's been missing for more than a week set out Monday in search parties, scouring various parts of the city. They're offering a $10,000 reward for information that helps find him.
Kelly Flock, 68, was last seen June 22 at a restaurant in the Marda Loop area, at 34th Avenue and 20th Street S.W.
"We're desperate for anything. We want our dad back," said daughter Kendra Flock.
The search parties were split into two groups in the morning, focusing on the Weaselhead and Fort Calgary areas before moving to Mission in the afternoon, along with Eau Claire and Prince's Island Park.
Police told the family the last ping from his phone — when it connected to a cell tower — came from the Mission district around Fourth Street and 23rd Avenue S.W., near where both his daughters live. Flock grew up on Rideau Road so has a strong connection to the area.
"We also have had some fairly legitimate sounding tips from around Humpty's on Macleod Trail and also at the Stampede Grounds, which would make sense because he frequented this area a lot," said sister-in-law Dena Flock.
Doran Flock says his missing brother suffers from a medical condition that requires him to take medication regularly. He said it's possible he fell off his bike along one of the river pathways or in the Weaselhead.
"We're very concerned that he's not well," the brother said.
"Our difficulty is all we have are questions. We don't have any great clues, any great ideas. He has disappeared off the face of the earth."
Flock is five feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has grey hair and blue eyes.
It's believed he was riding his bicycle, a dark charcoal Trek OCLV road bike.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
