Festival lineup will be announced Monday
The P.E.I. Jazz and Blues Festival has decided to go all east coast this year, because it was unable to find an affordable headline act.
In March the festival announced it was moving from August to June in order to attract bigger acts that were on the late spring/early summer festival circuit.
Board chair Jim Power said higher than usual performance fees and the low Canadian dollar were contributing factors.
Power said, instead, the festival will feature all east coast performers.
"It's going to be a memorable experience all the same," he said.
"What we're going to do is coordinate an event this year … that's going to focus on east coast music."
Power said the lineup will be announced Monday morning. The festival runs from June 21-24.
