Homeowner runs down suspect in attempted outboard motor theft
Charlottetown Police say they had an unusually high number of calls, about 150, over the long weekend.
Police issued 51 Highway Traffic Act tickets, and received 11 calls related to the Liquor Control Act, including one about a woman buying alcohol for a 17-year-old at the Oak Tree Liquor Store.
On Sunday night, police said a pizza delivery driver had a pizza stolen while trying to make a delivery on Patterson Drive. Two suspects fled. One is described as being a boy, 15 or 16 years old. The incident is still under investigation.
On Monday, police responded to a call about an attempted theft of an outboard motor on Newland Crescent.
Police said the homeowner and a neighbour detected the attempt and chased after the suspects. One, a 46-year-old man, was caught and turned over to police. Police are still looking for a second man.
