Five Canadian writers — including a former paramedic, a Canada Reads People's Choice winner and a 19-year-old spoken-word artist — have made the 2015 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize shortlist:
Each writer wins $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link). The shortlist was selected by jurors Kamal Al-Solaylee, Michael Harris and Merrily Weisbord
The grand prize winner will be revealed on September 21. The winning author will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link), publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine(external link) and a writing residency at The Banff Centre(external link).
