Announcing the 2015 CBC Creative Nonfiction shortlist

Five Canadian writers — including a former paramedic, a Canada Reads People's Choice winner and a 19-year-old spoken-word artist — have made the 2015 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize shortlist:
- Marusya Bociurkiw for "A Girl, Waiting"
- Kayal Vizhi for "Salt"
- Carrie Mac for "if you have a good seal, the chest will rise"
- Richard Wagamese for "Finding Father"
- Traci Skuce for "Fugitive"
Each writer wins $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts. The shortlist was selected by jurors Kamal Al-Solaylee, Michael Harris and Merrily Weisbord
The grand prize winner will be revealed on September 21. The winning author will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine and a writing residency at The Banff Centre.
