Announcing the 2015 CBC Poetry Prize shortlist

The results are in and the CBC Poetry Prize longlist has been whittled down to five shortlisted poets. The poets include a doctoral fellow, a librarian and an adventurer.
The 2015 CBC Poetry Prize shortlist is:
  • Anna Swanson for "The Garbage Poems"
  • Jordan Mounteer for "Pareidolia"
  • Michelle Elrick for "crow (v.)"
  • Emily Nilsen for "Meanwhile"
  • Mark Wagenaar for "String Theory"
Each writer will win $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link). The shortlist was selected by a jury consisting of Karen Solie, Fred Wah and Shane Book.
The grand prize winner will be announced on November 24. He or she will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link), publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine(external link) and a 10-day writing residency at The Banff Centre(external link).
