The results are in and the 2016 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize longlist has been whittled down to five finalists.
The 2016 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize shortlist is:
The shortlist was selected by a jury consisting of Brian Brett, Diane Schoemperlen and Drew Hayden Taylor.
The grand prize winner will be announced on Sept. 21, 2016. The winner will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link), publication in Air Canada enRoute(external link) magazine and a 10-day writing residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity(external link).
The remaining finalists will receive $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts(external link).
