Announcing the 2016 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize shortlist

The results are in and the 2016 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize longlist has been whittled down to five finalists.
The 2016 CBC Creative Nonfiction Prize shortlist is:
- "Adaptation" by Leslie A. Davidson
- "Because We're Not at the Ocean" by Christine Higdon
- "Eighteen" by Shannon Linden
- "Through the Front Page" by Judith Timson
- "What Was in Me" by Jack Neary
The shortlist was selected by a jury consisting of Brian Brett, Diane Schoemperlen and Drew Hayden Taylor.
The grand prize winner will be announced on Sept. 21, 2016. The winner will receive $6,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts, publication in Air Canada enRoute magazine and a 10-day writing residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
The remaining finalists will receive $1,000 from the Canada Council for the Arts.
