National Bank on Provencher Boulevard was robbed Thursday afternoon, police say
Four men from Ontario have been arrested after a Winnipeg bank was robbed Thursday afternoon.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., two men armed with knives held up the National Bank on Provencher Boulevard, police said.
They received cash from bank staff and then left. Nobody was injured.
A short time later, the vehicle used in the robbery was located and a police canine unit tracked down one man in the area of the Niakwa Golf and Country Club.
Around 7:30 p.m., two other men were found near Des Meurons Street and Humboldt Avenue. The fourth man was located near St. Anne's Road and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.
The money was all recovered and all four men have been charged with a range of robbery and weapons offences.
One thing that hasn't been found yet is a police radio that got lost. While searching for the robbers, an officer dropped his device, possibly in the area around Beliveau Road in St. Vital.
Anyone who happens to find it is asked to call police at 204-986-6222.
