A rock slide Friday morning is causing traffic snarl-ups along a stretch of the Yellowhead Highway near Jasper.
A section of Highway 16 stretching from the Jasper Park west gates to the Jasper townsite has been closed, Alberta 511 and Jasper National Park tweeted Friday.
The closure came into effect at about 10 a.m.
There is no estimated time the highway will be re-opened. A specialist is being brought in to examine the area, officials with Parks Canada told CBC News.
No injuries have been reported.
Park crews remain on scene, clearing rubble from the road. Jasper RCMP were not available for comment.
