Employees will be offered severance packages and career transition support
Eight people will lose their jobs when Pepsi ceases operating its warehouse on P.E.I. next month.
A spokesperson for PepsiCo Beverages Canada confirmed Armour Logistics, based in Charlottetown, will take over distribution of Pepsi products on the Island in June.
The warehouse is located in the Watts industrial park in the north end of Charlottetown.
The company said the move will allow it to remain competitive, and that laid-off employees will be offered severance packages and career transition support.
A person who answered the phone at Armour Logistics on Monday deferred questions on the matter to PepsiCo.
