Victim left at Peter Lougheed Centre just before midnight, suspected crime scene located in Tuxedo
The death of a man who was brought to a Calgary hospital late Sunday night suffering from life-threatening injuries is being investigated by the homicide unit, police say.
The man in his 40s was dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Centre just before midnight and died a short time later, police say.
It's not believed the incident was random. The victim was known to police.
Investigators have spoken with the person who took the victim to hospital and they have located an address in Tuxedo where it's believed the man was injured.
Police said a four-block radius between 28th Avenue and 29th Avenue and First and Second streets N.E. would be cordoned off for several hours while investigators search for evidence.
The man's next of kin have been notified, but police said his identity will not be released until after an autopsy, which is set for Tuesday.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
