Cyclist killed after being hit by SUV near Medicine Hat

56-year-old female rider rushed to hospital where she later died

A 56-year-old cyclist has been killed after being hit by an SUV while riding south of Medicine Hat, Alta.
Police say the cyclist was riding southbound on Black and White Trail — near Medicine Hat in southeast Alberta — about 1 p.m. on Wednesday when she was hit.
The woman — a resident of Cypress County — was rushed to hospital where she later died.
The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old woman, was not injured.
Traffic was re-routed in the area as police investigated what led to the crash.
