The west leg of the Sherman Access will be closed in both directions for two weeks starting this Thursday.
The closure is needed to safely prepare for work to be done on the retaining wall running along the access.
Work will begin on Thursday, March 16, at 9 a.m. and is expected to finish on or before the evening of Wednesday, March 29, weather permitting.
The entire west leg of the access will be closed between the Sherman cut intersection and Charlton Street. The east leg of the Sherman Access will remain open.
During the closure, city crews and contractors will be conducting geotechnical investigations to learn more about rock conditions and gather other information needed to design a plan to reinforce the retaining structures along the access.
