Police block off part of Spence Street after violent assault

1 person sent to hospital in unstable condition; police searching for a suspect
One person was rushed to hospital in unstable condition after a serious assault in Winnipeg's West Broadway area Sunday night.
Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Spence Street, just south of Portage Avenue, shortly after 10 p.m.
A large police presence could be seen in the area, including several armed officers and canine units.
On Monday morning, a section of the street remained blocked off and the police service's identification unit was on scene.
There is little information about what happened. Police would only say the victim is an adult and that no arrests have been made.
