Thrand is an adventurous Norse boy who is captured by the Beothuks. At first, he just wants to go home. But in time, he gets used to his new world and the new people that surround him, becoming immersed in the Beothuk language, culture and way of life. The Dream Carvers is a mystical tale about being a fish out of water, being open-minded and being adaptive.
The Dream Carvers is for readers ages 16 and up.
From the book
The gods, three sisters, Being, Necessity and Fate, sit at their loom beneath the Tree, weaving the lives of ordinary people. So my mother says. Whether you are on the good side or the bad side of the gods depends on Chance. If the sisters weave you an unlucky life, there's little you can do to change your fate. Not even Thor can help you out.
