While filmmaker Pablo Aravena(external link) was in Chile working on a documentary about street art, he got the chance to meet up with DJ Jazzy Jeff(external link) and Canada's own Skratch Bastid(external link) to dig for records at the legendary Franklin Market in Santiago de Chile.
The pair were in town to judge the Red Bull Thre3Style(external link) world DJ championships, but they ducked out of the fray for a while to buy some vinyl and talk music while strolling the streets of Chile's capital city with Aravena and his camera. The result is the above video — which might just make you want to hop on the next plane their way. As Skratch Bastid puts it: "You never know what kind of remnants of DJ history you'll find in the crates."
You can see Skratch Bastid(external link) at TIMEKODE in Ottawa on February 25(external link). DJ Jazzy Jeff(external link) is performing the same night(external link)...if you so happen to be in Charlotte, North Carolina.
