"Feeling very sad about this. As an immigrant to Canada Dave and Morley became family friends who revealed the understated but rich vein of Canadian humour and made the Vinyl Cafe a family fixture in the week. Thank you Stuart," Sue Seh Hirst posted on Facebook.

"After all these years I still chuckle when I remember he and Peter Gzowski totally breaking up over a Morningside item Stuart was doing about ....was it an insect? worms? Condolences to his family and friends; may they be comforted by hearing how Stuart brought Canadians from coast to coast to coast closer together through his stories.
