Island's ice storm was at its heaviest up west
Maritime Electric says it has restored power to all its customers on P.E.I.
As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, there were 270 without power in western P.E.I. By 8 p.m., power had been restored to all customers, Maritime Electric said.
Following a winter storm that brought ice, heavy rain and strong winds early Wednesday, Maritime Electric had to deal with a major power outage in West Prince. At 3:30 p.m. Wednesday there were 1,600 customers without power in the province, about 90 per cent of them in the Alberton and O'Leary area.
