CBC Music presents Searchlight 2017

Artist submissions open until February 7

Calling all Saskatchewan musicians! Have an original song you'd like to share with the rest of Canada? Want to get your music noticed? CBC's annual Searchlight Competition(external link) to find Canada's next big music act is back!
Submissions for Searchlight 2017 are open now, with the deadline for entry being Feb. 7. Enter here(external link).
This year, we have some huge prizes in store for the winner, who will be chosen on a prime-time TV broadcast in April (you can watch last year's here(external link)). New for this year, the grand prize winner will also receive an original song commission for Canada's 150 celebration and a two-week songwriting residency, with a celebrity mentor, from the Banff Centre(external link) to write it. The winner will debut the song at the 2017 CBC Music Festival in Toronto, followed by a Searchlight concert with the other top four finalists on July 2 as part of the National Arts Centre(external link)'s concert series.CBC Music's annual contest to find Canada's next big music act is back. Like last year, to enter Searchlight you will need an original song and a music video that showcases you and/or your act at your best, so here is an early invitation to get started now!
Last year Desiree Dawson (external link)won the competition with her rocking ukulele and warm-hearted style.
