Between the freezing and thawing, it won't be hard to spot ice around Newfoundland and Labrador this winter.
Balance is crucial while walking in winter, but Memorial University human kinetics researcher Jeanette Byrne says proper footwear is also important.
She told CBC's Here & Now that one small slip could result in serious disability.
