Man taken to hospital in critical condition, say police
Provincial police have identified a London, Ont. woman who died in collision on Highway 401 Wednesday.
According to the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police, 51-year-old Katherine Schmidt was a passenger in the vehicle, which was involved in a single vehicle collision on the Wellington Road off-ramp near London on Jan. 4.
After the crash she was transported to hospital, but died of her injuries.
James Schmidt, 56, was driving the vehicle and remains in critical condition.
The OPP said the crash occurred around noon and shut down the eastbound exit ramp for several hours while police collision investigators examined the scene.
