Thieves attempted to steal ATM from Wellington Esso, say police

Police say suspects were unsuccessful in ATM theft, but caused damage to store
East Prince RCMP are investigating a break in at an Esso gas station in Wellington, P.E.I., early Monday morning.
Police said at about 4 a.m., suspects broke in to the convenience store and attempted to steal the ATM.
There was some damage to the front door, said police, but they weren't able to remove the machine.
The incident was caught on video surveillance.
Police said the investigation is still in its early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call East Prince RCMP at 902-436-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
