On Monday, 22 bus routes will change in the Tri-Cities to make way for the six new Millennium Line Evergreen stations(external link), while there will also be other changes including ones for Vancouver's West End and Downtown.
The new routes will mean the cancellation of the 97 B-Line and 190 Vancouver/Coquitlam Station route. Changes are also in effect for the 160, 188 and the 143 bus routes.
Meanwhile in downtown Vancouver changes include the addition of a new B-Line on Hastings Street, which replaces the 135, and route changes to the 5, 6 and the C23.
The 6 Davie/Downtown line will extend along Davie Street to provide better connections to Yaletown, Canada Line and Cambie Street.
The C21 and C23 buses in the West End will discontinue and merge into the new 23 Main Street Station/Yaletown/Beach Avenue route.
The changes come along with reduced service for the holiday season.
Routes serving schools and post-secondary institutions will be running on a lighter schedule during the school holidays while Christmas and Boxing Day will run on a Sunday/holiday service schedule.
A full, detailed list of service changes is on TransLink's website(external link), and users are encouraged to use Trip Planner(external link) to plan their route.
TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond explains services changes set for Dec. 19, 2016.
