CHICOUTIMI, QC—As Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens in theatres across North America to great acclaim, plans have already been announced for a French-language remake coming to Quebec next summer titled Star Wars: Rouge Un.
According to director Denis Ménasse, the film will feature all the characters that fans have come to love, "including Hanne Seule, Luc Marche-en-Ciel, and of course beloved furry large man Chieuebaque."

"This film will unite all Quebecois viewers," he continued, "in the same way that the mission to defeat the evil empire has united the rebels lo these many years. We are hoping to have the imposing former NHL enforcer Stu Grimson play Chieuebaque, beloved friend of Hanne."

Other casting news remains speculative, with Patrick Huard of "Bon Cop, Bad Cop" up for Hanne, Luc, Leia, C-3PO, R2D2, General Lando Du Calrisse and beloved rascal Jarre Jarre La Banque. Darth Vader—now called Le Vâde Dûre—is expected to be played by former NHL enforcer Stu Grimson, in a dual role alongside Chieuebaque.
The film, which based on available details, seems to be less a direct remake of the most recent film and more a hodgepodge of all the Star Wars films combined, will have a finished script by wunderkind Xavier Dolan by the end of the year and will be released in July of 2017. The film will also feature Colm Feore as El Phantome, which is not even, strictly speaking, a French phrase.
