Canada Olympic Park's tube park opens Saturday
Tobogganing in Calgary is about to undergo a major upgrade this weekend with 200 metres of snowy, slippery terrain ready for action.
Starting Saturday, visitors at Canada Olympic Park's new Acura Tube Park can choose from 10 lanes of varying speeds to slide down. There's also a dedicated magic carpet for an easy ride back up the hill.
"It's just another opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the winter we have here in Calgary," says Dale Oviatt, director of communications at WinSport, which owns and operates Canada Olympic Park.
"Not everybody is a skier or snowboarder, but for sure this gives you a chance to get out. You don't need a lot of skill or ability or any special tools."
