A man was taken to hospital after being found outdoors covered in snow with his fingers turned blue in the early hours of Friday morning.
Paramedics say they responded to a call at 3 a.m. in the Harbord Street and Lippincott Street area, where a man was found out on the street with cold-related and non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the man, who was inebriated, was assessed by paramedics and then transported to hospital.
The city was under an extreme cold weather alert at the time.
The city's medical officer of health issues extreme cold weather alerts when Environment Canada forecasts a temperature of -15 C or colder or a wind chill of -20 or colder.
