The City of Regina is looking at improving security at its golf courses.
On Wednesday, the City Hall executive committee received a proposal to increase green fees at the Murray, Tor Hill, Joanne Goulet and Lakeview courses. Part of the proposed increase would go toward new security measures.
The recommendation said that while exterior security lighting was added at the Murray and Tor Hill clubhouses and maintenance shops in 2014, break-ins happened in 2015 and 2016.
According to the proposal, the increase in green fees will be directed to security patrol services, improving alarm systems and enhancing entrances to better secure the properties.
The proposed increase would be phased in over three years.

2017 fees

  • Murray, Tor Hill (adult): $50.50.
  • Joanne Goulet (adult weekend): $40.75.
  • Lakeview (weekend): $16.

2018 fees

  • Murray, Tor Hill: $52.25.
  • Joanne Goulet (adult weekend): $42.25.
  • Lakeview (weekend): $16.50.

2019 fees

  • Murray, Tor Hill: $54.
  • Joanne Goulet (adult weekend): $44.
  • Lakeview (weekend): $17.
The proposal said all other fees and passes at the Joanne Goulet and Lakeview golf courses would be adjusted in accordance with the formula, which uses the adult weekend fee as the base.
