Descriptions released for two suspects in killing of Hussein Merhi
One year after a Calgary man was shot and killed in an alley in the northeast community of Monterey Park, police have released new information about his killers.
Hussein Merhi was found in medical distress on Dec. 13, 2015, after police responded to reports of a shooting.
The 26-year-old died at the scene, in the 100 block of Del Ray Road N.E.
Police believe Merhi met up with at least two men in the alley, and at some point during the meeting, a fight occurred.
On Tuesday, exactly a year after his death, police released descriptions of two suspects.
The first suspect is a Caucasian man, about 25 years old, with a medium build and blond hair. He was wearing black clothing, including a black winter coat and black sunglasses, police say.
The second suspect is described as a Caucasian man with blond hair and a thin build.
Detectives say a dark SUV, possibly a 2000 to 2006 Ford Escape or similar type of vehicle, was seen fleeing the area after the shooting.
